Emerald employs a novel technology that uses wireless signals to monitor a variety of health metrics such as heart rate variability, gait, mobility, breathing, and sleep stages without requiring subjects to physically wear sensors. MC10’s nPoint system is a wearable patch biosensor measuring similar physiological outputs as Emerald.

In this combined biosensor study, the Emerald and MC10 BioStamp nPoint patches will be employed to further RSRT’s goal to objectively measure Rett Syndrome symptoms directly in the home environment. This study will focus on sleep, activity, heart rate and breathing. If successful the devices have potential to improve symptom detection in the home environment to guide healthcare and assess the impact of therapeutic interventions.
