Russel “Rusty” Bromley
Director of Research Operations
Rusty joined RSRT as its first Director of Research Operations in November 2016, after working closely with the RSRT team to develop the 2016 Strategic Plan. In his role Mr. Bromley is principally responsible for supporting the efforts of the Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) in the efficient, effective and timely execution of the RSRT research plan.
Mr. Bromley brings a unique combination of business and research management experience in both the non-profit and commercial worlds. Over the last 13 years, Mr. Bromley has assisted several non-profit medical research organizations in creating and implementing new, more effective business models for accelerating the discovery and development of new treatments and cures. In 2010 he founded Translational Research Acceleration Consulting and for seven years before that served as the Chief Operating Officer of the Myelin Repair Foundation. Mr. Bromley also served as the Chairman of the Board of Vascular Cures, a foundation dedicated to ending death and disability from vascular disease.
His expertise includes the creation and protection of innovative technologies, business development, and marketing strategy for high tech and life science companies. He was CEO of LabVelocity, Inc., an internet information portal for the life science research community. Prior to that, he was CEO of Berkshire Holding Corporation, a privately held, multinational manufacturing company and spent 17 years with Baxter Healthcare. Mr. Bromley holds a degree in Biochemistry from Rice University.
